If you been following my blog from the start you know that one of my first posts was the first project of Erick Arc Elliot named "Noir". Ever since a friend of mine introduced me to his music, I have been following him around and enjoying his work. His music is refreshing and unlikely to most of the rappers he is not busy with making singles or being a just a "rapper" but more with being creative and being a true artist, and that is something I respect. A lot of people slept on his previous projects but I'm glad that I see his work pop up more and more often on the internet. You can stream and download the complete album on his bandcamp.

If you enjoy it also visit the website theloveinus, where Erick Arc Elliot is part of.

"THELOVEINUS is a collective of young individuals who pride themselves as artists, and refer to themselves in the 3rd person. We use art as our means of expression, and love is our inspiration. We aren't to be confused with any lame/loser/hippie/false revolutionaries, we just love to create.

"Born in 1969 in Reading, UK, Martin Wheeler started recording in his teens, influenced by the sounds of Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and Suicide. A ‘geek’ before the term was in common use, Wheeler became a computer games designer at 16 and went on to develop over 25 titles for ZX Spectrum, Atari ST, PC, Nintentdo SNES and Gameboy before returning to music with the release of his first single as Vector Lovers in 2003. The split 7” featuring the now classic ‘Tokyo Glitterati’ on the innovative Static Caravan label won support from leftfield DJs the world over, including John Peel and Mute Records founder Daniel Miller. The follow-up EP ‘Roboto Ashido Funk’ (self-released on his Iwari micro imprint) featured on the coverdiscs of DJ magazine and Jockey Slut, prompting offers from major and indie labels and culminating in Vector Lovers signing to seminal Glasgow techno label, Soma Records in 2004.

Since then, Wheeler has recorded three albums and played venues across Europe, including Fabric, Arena Berlin, The Loft, 100 Club, Indigo (Istanbul), The Sugar Factory, Le Triptyque, Club 69, Pressure @ The Arches, The Sub-Club, T in The Park, Connect Festival, Lattitude Festival, Bloc Weekend, Synch Festival, Panoptica, Festival Polmadi (Ljubliana) and Plektrum (Tallin).

Remixing and production work has seen collaborations with artists as diverse as Tracey Thorn, Ladytron, Husky Rescue, Lillian Hak, Alex Smoke, Diefenbach, Tim Wright, The Black Dog, Slam, Funk D’Void, Mark Henning, Transparent Sound, Justine Electra and My Robot Friend. From derelict neon soundscapes to future robot funk, Vector Lovers’ fusion of deep, quirky electro and precise melodic intuition has provided memorable soundtracks for television, film and advertising.

In March 2008 Vector Lovers designed the DR1 Dr Drone synthesizer, released to growing acclaim from electronic producers. Now working on a fourth album, Martin spends most of his time recording at home in Berlin where he lives with his wife and two children above a vintage radio shop."

Great CD if you are a fan of laid back electronic music!

"Saturn Never Sleeps came about when music producer King Britt and singer/artist Rucyl collaborated in 2009 for two improvisational performances specifically dedicated to the music and sound of fellow Philadelphian Sun-Ra. Carrying on in the tradition of Sun Ra’s vision of process as art, they decided to continue their project, which led to a year of amazing opportunities, performing at Moogfest (USA), Stadtmusik Festival (Basel, Switzerland), Art Basel (Miami), Micro-cosmos (Tokyo) and residencies in Philadelphia/NYC.
“Like Massive Attack… with balls!” – Gal Ofer from Tel Aviv

The duo have been inspired by the works of classic electronic innovators like Herbie Hancock, Raymond Scott, Delia Derbyshire, the present day forward-thinking electronic scene as well as experimental composers, dub and rocksteady. These inspirations have transpired in a solid stage show combining laptop/electronics with heart melting vocals and improvised electronic instrumentation, heavy bass vibrations and sonic ambience. The live two person show consists of King Britt on samples, beats, and textures with Rucyl layering vocals and added electronics. Often both performers vary their live rigs with home-brew music applications and experimental noise makers. Their sound resonates with fans of artists like Massive Attack, Little Dragon, Sun Ra and Philip Glass. Recently opening for TV on the Radio and Sun Ra Arkestra, music collectors and young audiences alike are taking notice of their unique approach to songs.

Their debut album, Yesterday’s Machine, combines an experimental create-in-the-moment vibe with inspirational lyrics and vocal sonics that range from Sade tones to Flora Purim’s ethereal layers. The result is well-crafted, intelligent, genre-pushing, electronic soul rooted in the duo’s collective years of experience and musical expanse. To be released in July 2011 on their label, SNS."

Amazing piece of work!

Tycho - Hours (Single)

"While his formative years were spent listening to everything from Yes to Photek, Scott Hansen didn't get his hands on an actual guitar or drum machine until he left his native Sacramento for San Francisco in 1995. "Encountering this whole new world at 20 years old was a profound experience," says Hansen, better known by his musical pseudonym Tycho and as the graphic artist ISO50. "At the time, I was just learning the processes of design and music; both felt very similar, and have flowed back and forth for me ever since."

As seamless as his two creative outlets have been, nearly a decade passed before the release of Hansen's first proper Tycho LP, Sunrise Projector (later expanded and reissued under the title Past Is Prologue). And while three striking singles have emerged since then, the sum of all those sepia-toned parts is nowhere near the double-exposed soundscapes of Dive. The product of a prolonged break from IS050's design work and blog, it pays tribute to Tycho's prismatic past (the dense, guitar-guided turning points of "Daydream" and "Adrift") but spends most of its time pointing to the project's not-so-distant future.

That can mean any number of things, really, from the halcyon hooks and hopeful horizons of "A Walk" to the expansive, wildly expressive tone poetry of the title track, an eight-minute epic that unfolds like a compressed concept album. Or at the very least, a restless vision of prog-rock—one that's been coated in neon colors and filtered through a thick piece of blotter paper. And then there's "Elegy," a spare curtain closer that pairs a vulnerable crescendo with a fitting bridge to future works.

And with that, Dive establishes its position as the most diverse musical statement of Hansen's multi-medium career; the point where his skills as a performer finally catch up with his vaporized vision of a world that doesn't belong to any particular time or place.

"Nostalgia is a common thread in my work," says Hansen, "but this album wasn't driven by that idea. I see these songs as artifacts from a future which might have more in common with our past than our present."

Hours is the first single that the world get's to hear from Ghostly International's Tycho. Currently he is working on a new LP named Dive which is planned to be released somewhere in November. I love the beautiful dreamscape that this man creates with his music. His Coastal Break record is one of the most laid back tracks I've ever heard in my life!

"Kids These Days comes from Chicago but their music comes from everywhere. With three horns, a rapper, a blues-rock trio and a female singer, KTD blends a wide range of influences -- hip-hop, jazz, soul, blues, and classic rock -- into a unique, fresh sound that breaks boundaries while honoring America’s musical heritage.

In their first 24 months, they have built a solid following, with over 10,000 fans on Facebook, who turn out for their high-energy, groove-oriented shows at clubs like Reggie’s, Hideout, Subterranean, Lincoln Hall and The Metro.

While still in their teens, they beat out 150 Chicago bands of all-ages to win first place in the Congress Theater’s Next Big Thing battle of the bands in November of 2009.

In March 2011, KTD made their first trip as a band to the illustrious music festival, South by Southwest in Austin, TX. It is safe to say that they made a little splash in the musical ocean, surprising the audiences at venues such as Peckerheads and Pure Volume House. On July 1st, 2011, KTD performed at Milwaukee's Summerfest, where they opened for Third Eye Blind, spreading their musical message to a very receptive audience of over 5000.

KTD includes Liam Cunningham on guitar and lead vocals, Lane Beckstrom on bass, Greg Landfair on drums, Macie Stewart on keys, lead vocals, and background vocals,Vic Mensa on rap vocals, Nico Segal on trumpet, J.P. Floyd on trombone, and Rajiv Halim on saxophone.

They have shared the stage with noted hip-hop artists Rhymefest, the Cool Kids, Mic Terror, and Dom Kennedy. Their influences run from the Roots, Sly Stone, Stevie Wonder and Jimi Hendrix to classic bebop and modern jazz artists such as Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Christian McBride, Miguel Zenon, Nicholas Payton, and Roy Hargrove. Trained musicians, they also perform regularly with side projects at the Jazz Showcase, Symphony Center, Ravinia, The Velvet Lounge and the Chicago Jazz Festival.

KTD's first project "Hard Times", which features five original songs, is currently available on iTunes for download (at the low price of $3.99); it was released on June 28th 2011.

Look out for their next project, a mixtape, "Trap House Rock", which will feature songs that are mixed together with a KTD twist, paying tribute to their many, many influences!"

My struggle to let the world know who I am and why I will go down in history as one of the GREATEST musicians ever. My struggle to make sure fools know that none of this came easy to me. ZUMO KOLLIE 'It was on My Mind'//ApK from ApKmedia on Vimeo.

"There are few moments when we realize that we are witnessing history; Zumo Kollie is keen to those moments . . . and he’s taking advantage. The young upstart, hailing from Providence, RI, has arrived in our music consciousness, and with an author-like writing skill and a timeless, effortless flow, he plans to make his home there for years to come. “My whole focus is to give the music that people associate with a time, but never seems to be held down to that period. Like, how everyone know the words to ‘Juicy’, all these years later. That’s my drive and that’s what moves me.” His tastes and passions make up a patchwork of influences as intriguing and unique as they come. From Phil Collins and David Byrne, Marvin Gaye and Anita Baker, Andre 3000 and Jay-Z, Zumo Kollie has learned from the greats and infused his own life and style into a sound that captivates and electrifies the world of Hip Hop. “I’m excited for what’s on the horizon,” says Zumo. “The scene is set, the backdrop is perfect, the pieces are in place; I feel like it’s my time to make my mark.” And with the talent and flair for the legendary, in time, Zumo’s mark will be undeniable."

"Welcome to the house of Suff Daddy. Drunken boom-bap madness with a 2010 state of mind. Dope beats, sick samples and twisted Mini-Korg licks, fueled with weed and Pilsetten. This is not your average Prenzelberg producer. Suff Deezy is on his own shit.
"Suff" means "drinking heavy" in German and his favourite drinks are Pilsetten and Tanqueray. Suff Daddy grew up in Düsseldorf (the city of Kraftwerk), listening to the 90ies hip-hop-collection of his older brother. His favourite group back than were Tha Alkaholics. He caught the beatbug after he moved to Berlin a couple of years ago, inspired by Quasimoto and Jaylib. Suff Daddy started working with MySpace postergirl Kissey Asplund in 2005 and has since then laced beats for Miles Bonny, Oddisse, Fleur Earth, Retrogott, Morlock Dilemma, Flomega and many more. However, the beat daddy is really at home with his solo joints. In 2009 Suff Daddy accounted for “Suff Draft”, the second instalment of the Hi-Hat Club series. „The Gin Diaries“, Suff Daddy's debut LP for which he worked with Miles Bonny, Jim Dunloop, Fleur Earth, Mar and Mariama, saw the light of day in early 2010. Most currently the Beat Daddy cares for his CGN-connection by working on an album with Fleur Earth. "

"Ogden Payne started dabbling into hip hop when he was 15 years old. After getting cut from the baseball team, Payne was searching for what he was supposed to do next. He discovered hip hop when a friend playfully suggested they rap to Kayne West's College Dropout.

"I was like whatever, I'll do it. But a few months later, he didn't want to stick with it, and I started to fall in love with it. I would write every day. I would go on YouTube and look up different instrumentals, whatever I could do," said Payne. "So I guess it really started just for fun. I guess that's how usually everything starts."

Now three years later, Payne is getting ready to release his latest mixtape Late Night Thoughts on April 30, which he created with the help of ACC resources. Late Night Thoughts tells the story of the 18-year-old hip hop persona Payne. Like most musicians, the character dreams of being signed to a record deal for his music." somanybands.net

Sepalcure - Fleur EP (2011)

1- Fleur
2- Your Love
3- No Think
4- Inside

"Sepalcure's combination of love for bass and 90s house acapellas is the culmination of a cathartic two week collaboration between Machinedrum and Praveen. Their mix of tribal dub, house and two step beats works equally well for both late nights in the club and rainy, introspective nights at home. Detroit techno chords cut through wooden beats, neon synths and dubbed out atmospherics. Future lovestep.
